Welcome to Guitar Ninjas – Purple Belt
You’ve reached Level 6: Purple Belt, which takes you well into the intermediate phase of your Guitar Ninja journey. By this stage, you’ve developed strong technical skills and a solid understanding of the basics. Now, it’s time to dive deeper into the kinds of concepts and techniques you’d encounter in tertiary-level guitar education.
In Purple Belt, the program expands beyond the 10 study pieces and reintroduces chapters that cover advanced techniques, theory concepts, and applied practice. You’ll work through:
- 5 riffs to sharpen rhythm, groove, and stylistic versatility
- 5 licks to push your technique and fretboard mastery
- Additional chapters covering topics such as triads, voice leading, modes, and advanced guitar techniques
- A collection of riffs, licks, and chord progressions to help you apply these concepts musically
Here’s how it works:
- Each level has its own book and online course with step-by-step videos.
- To level up, complete the checklist at the start of your book, plus the advanced activities in your Guitar Ninjas Workbook.
- Purple Belt typically takes 6–9 months to complete, depending on your practice consistency.
This level is designed to broaden your theoretical knowledge, expand your technical ability, and prepare you for advanced musicianship. By the end of Purple Belt, you’ll not only play with more sophistication but also think more like a complete guitarist.
